Stephanie M. Gonzalez

Stephanie PicStephanie M. Gonzalez was born and raised in Laredo, Texas.  She attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in government and received a Business Foundations Certificate from the Red McCombs School of Business.  Upon her graduation, Stephanie moved back to Laredo and earned her MBA with a concentration in International Business at Texas A&M International University.  She then graduated from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (n/k/a Texas A&M University School of Law) in 2010.

Stephanie’s practice has been focused on civil litigation and transactional matters, including real estate, business formation, commercial litigation, international commercial trade transactions, insurance litigation, bad faith, breach of contract, tort claims, personal injury, and oil and gas.  Stephanie has experience in all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, pre-trial motions, post-judgment motions, trial briefs, appellate briefs and jury charges; attending hearings in both state and federal court; attending mediations, arbitrations, and site inspections; managing discovery; taking and defending depositions; preparing settlement agreements, releases and contracts; preparing litigation reports; working with expert witnesses; preparing witnesses for trial; and developing strategies in preparation of trial.

Stephanie began her career in the oil and gas industry where she examined title and rendered original drilling, supplemental, and division order title opinions for various multinational energy exploration companies.  She routinely advised clients concerning the business risks related to various courses of action. She has experience with oil and gas acquisitions, transactions, and land titles.  Her experience includes assisting clients with time-sensitive due diligence title evaluation for the acquisition of oil and gas leases, wells, and mineral interests, as well as preparation and interpretation of mineral conveyances and title documents.

In addition to her legal background, Stephanie has a background in business.  Prior to attending law school, she worked as a U.S. Customs-House Broker where she gained knowledge in the importance of compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the international trade process.  As an Account Manager, she was responsible for the preparation and transfer of international legal documents and correspondence.  She communicated with clients in the Spanish language on a daily basis and routinely traveled to Mexico to meet with corporate clients.
